Soroptimists STOP Trafficking

January 11th, 2011 is the National Day
of Human Trafficking Awareness.

Towns, Cities, Groups and organizations around the world are planning Celebrations & “Freedom Walks” to raise awareness about the millions of people that are enslaved and trafficked each year around the world. Many people still don’t know, OR believe that slavery still exists today.   We still have a long way to go……..
• more that 12.3 million people are
enslaved around the world today.
• 66 percent of those people are
women and 13 percent are girls
• human trafficking is the 2nd largest
and fastest-growing criminal activity
in the world.
